Two Days Before Each Exam
- Confirm that you have located your e-ticket. Two days before each exam, students will receive an email with their unique exam e-ticket that includes their AP ID. On exam day, students will use their e-ticket to access the exam. If a student hasn't received their exam e-ticket by email, they can access it through their student account on My AP. E-tickets are nontransferable and shouldn't be shared with anyone. Students who haven't been receiving College Board emails still have time to confirm their contact information.
- Students complete the AP Exam Day Checklist (.pdf/513.39 KB) for each exam they're taking. Students should complete this checklist and keep a printed or handwritten copy with them for reference during testing. Completing the checklist will help students feel confident they're set up for success.
- Remember to click your e-ticket to check in 30 minutes before exam start time. Students should allot 80 minutes for each exam—30 minutes to enter their AP ID, name, and other information, and 50 minutes to draft and submit their responses. Make sure your students know their local testing time, since each subject's exam will be taken simultaneously worldwide

N.T.I. Day # 31 (April 24, 2020)
Today I am going to share a webinar (link below) with you I attended concerning this year's unique style of the A.P.U.S.H. Exam. I would strongly suggest you watch the entire webinar as I believe it will be beneficial in studying for the Exam, but at the very least view the first 24 minutes to help you better understand this year's Exam. While it hasn't been a success with this class, I have had several productive Zoom meetings with my other course, that being said, we will attempt to have one for A.P.U.S.H. this upcoming Monday at noon. The meeting will be your assignment for that day, but for those who cannot or do not attend the Zoom meeting, I will have a task that he/she/they will have to complete.

N.T.I. Day # 18 (March 31, 2020) In today's video courtesy of CrashCourse, we explore the right to vote women gained when the 19th amendment was passed and ratified. But women made a lot of other gains in the 30 years between 1890 and 1920. More women joined the workforce, they acquired lots of other legal rights related to property, and they also became critical consumers in the industrial economy. Women also continued to play a vital role in reform movements. Sadly, they got Prohibition enacted in the US, but they did a lot of good stuff, too. The field of social work emerged as women like Jane Addams created settlement houses to assist immigrants in their integration into the United States. Women also began to work to make birth control widely available. You'll learn about famous reformers and activists like Alice Paul, Margaret Sanger, and Emma Goldman, among others. After viewing the video take a minimum of twelve notes concerning the video. |

N.T.I. Day # 17 (March 30, 2020)

***Please email me images of all the N.T.I. work you have completed this week to my email [email protected]
if at all possible include all images in one email, if not email images separately.***
Today's assignment (which will need to be emailed to me by Sunday March, 22) is to read the portion of Albert J. Beveridge’s Senate campaign speech and then answer the following short-answer question concerning American Imperialism.
Fellow citizens, it is a noble land that God has given us; a land that can feed and clothe the world;.. . . It is a mighty people that he has planted on this soil . . . It is a glorious history our God has bestowed upon his chosen people; . . .a history of soldiers who carried the flag across the blazing deserts and through the ranks of hostile mountains, even to the gates of sunset
…
The Opposition tells us that we ought not to govern a people without their consent. I answer: The rule of liberty that all just government derives its authority from the consent of the governed, applies only to those who are capable of self-government. I answer, We govern the Indians without their consent, we govern our territories without their consent, we govern our children without their consent. They ask us how we will govern these new possessions. I answer: If England can govern foreign lands, so can America. If Germany can govern foreign lands, so can America.
. . .
In Cuba, alone, there are 15,000,000 acres of forest unacquainted with the axe. There are exhaustless mines of iron. . . . There are millions of acres yet unexplored. . . . It means new employment and better wages for every laboring man in the Union. . . .

N.T.I. Day # 7 (March 16, 2020)
In the late 19th century, the great powers of Europe were running around the world obtaining colonial possessions, especially in Africa and Asia. The United States, which as a young country was especially susceptible to peer pressure, followed along and snapped up some colonies of its own. The US saw that Spain's hold on its empire was weak, and like some kind of expansionist predator, it jumped into the Cuban War for Independence and turned it into the Spanish-Cuban-Phillipino-American War, which usually just gets called the Spanish-American War. John will tell you how America turned this war into colonial possessions like Puerto Rico, The Philippines, and almost even got to keep Cuba. The US was busy in the Pacific as well, wresting control of Hawaii from the Hawaiians. All this and more in a globe-trotting, oppressing episode of Crash Course US History. Assignment: Take 15 + notes over the video, which you will use during Friday's N.T.I. writing assessment. **Just a heads up, Friday's assessment will need to be e-mailed to me by Sunday March 22!** |

N.T.I. Day 1 (Aug. 21, 2017)
By 1215, thanks to years of unsuccessful foreign policies and heavy taxation demands, England’s King John was facing down a possible rebellion by the country’s powerful barons. Under duress, he agreed to a charter of liberties known as the Magna Carta (or Great Charter) that would place him and all of England’s future sovereigns within a rule of law. Though it was not initially successful, the document was reissued (with alterations) in 1216, 1217 and 1225, and eventually served as the foundation for the English system of common law. Later generations of Englishmen would celebrate the Magna Carta as a symbol of freedom from oppression, as would the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, who in 1776 looked to the charter as a historical precedent for asserting their liberty from the English crown. (courtesy of history.com) After viewing the video complete the following: 1.) Why were many Englishmen rebelling against the crown/king? 2.)List a few of the demands of the rebels. 3.)In a well thought out paragraph, write how the signing of the Magna Carta and the emergence of Parliament would help ensure the rights of Englishmen (including those that would immigrate to the British Colonies in America). |
